Enfoton Solar Ltd Inaugurates New Manufacturing Facility
Release date: 27.05.10
At a ceremony which took place on the 27th May 2010 at 4:00pm the Manager of the Cyprus Institute of Energy Mr Solon Kassinis inaugurated on behalf of the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Mr Antonis Paschalides, the Enfoton Solar Ltd new state-of-the-art manufacturing Facility and Head Office at Kokkinotrimithia Industrial Estate.
Enfoton Solar Ltd which is the only photovoltaic panel manufacturer in Cyprus was incorporated in February 2002 with the vision to “Become a leading manufacturer of photovoltaic solar panels for Southern Europe”.
In his welcoming speech Mr Alex Soteriou, the Managing Director of Enfoton, said:
“We have installed 2 modern production lines with a total annual production capacity of 110MW which translates to approximately 480 000 photovoltaic modules per year. This capacity places Enfoton alongside the large European photovoltaic panel manufacturers.”
Enfoton is mainly export orientated supplying many European markets as well as the needs of the Cyprus market. Since 2003 Enfoton panels power up a number of large photovoltaic solar parks in Germany, Spain and Italy and they are also to be found in many small to medium size systems all over Europe.
The new capacity increase comes as a result of securing new large orders due to the high demand for photovoltaic panels worldwide.
The company successfully produced its first polycrystalline solar module at its wholly owned factory in Strovolos Industrial Estate in April 2003. What followed from then onwards was a rapid development triggered by a still young European PV industry growing on average at annual rates exceeding 30%, and driven by the founders’ vision to become a sizable player in the PV manufacturing arena.
The new plant comprises a second state-of-the-art production line consisting of a new Somont Rapid 4 tabber/stringer and layup station, a Reis fully automated 3-robot net soldering station, two new Meier ICOLAM laminators and a trimming station, taping station, junction box station, a flasher by Endeas Oy and a framing machine, in a line designed by RIMAS.
Also added is a third production line for our new roof intergraded panel. This new production line was especially designed for Enfoton by RIMAS and has speeded up the production of these panels considerably.
Enfoton Solar Ltd apart from being the only photovoltaic panel manufacturer in Cyprus it is also the strong name in photovoltaic systems design and installation on the island.
